Meet Amy.

How It All Started

Are you someone who's been struggling with physical, emotional, and/or mental pain for some time and you’re tired of it?

I totally get it!

I graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1993 with a Masters of Science Degree in Therapeutic Recreation. Shortly afterward, I started working on a Physical Rehabilitation Unit in Charleston, SC at a local academic medical center. During my time on this unit, I wanted to provide my patients with beneficial exercises they could utilize after discharge. My research led me to Qigong and I began teaching Qigong to my patients. This wonderful tool was well received.

You’ve come to the right place

The rehab unit I was working on unfortunately closed and I was left wondering what to do. I made my way to other healthcare facilities in Mt Pleasant, SC and I continued in the field of Therapeutic Recreation. I began teaching group aquatic fitness and Tai Chi.

As of 2023, I’ve been teaching aquatic fitness for 21 years and Tai Chi for 16 years. My love for teaching fitness has now come full circle again to Qigong. Within the last year, I rediscovered Qigong through my Tai Chi journey.

I now want to share my love of the internal arts with those who are passionate about finding a better way of living through movement and breath.

My purpose statement is a quote from Frank Shamrock:

  • I consistently observe.

  • I consistently listen.

  • I stay a student…this is what martial arts is about.
