What is Qigong?
Qigong is an energy movement practice. In ancient China, the monks observed nature and gained wisdom from watching animals, plants and the earth and how they were intertwined with each other. These monks were the creators of qigong.
The monks developed movements that awakened our lifeforce energy, qi. They trained or worked, gong, daily by using various postures, breathing techniques and meditations. These traditions were passed down from generation to generation.
The movements of qigong practice are slow and rhythmic. Think of a quiet stream flowing down the side of a mountain. In Qigong, we imagine the water flowing through us. As the water flows, it nourishes our cells, organs, muscles, bones, mind and spirit. When the water becomes stagnate in our bodies, our bodies develop illness and disease. Through our qigong practice, we loosen and break up stagnate muddy water (or energy), bringing back health into to the body, mind, and spirit.
The qigong journey calms our nervous system, restores our souls, and aids in strengthening our immunity. Come along and learn these ancient practices for increased energy and vitality.
